![]() ![]() Though shows like House of the Dragon and The Rings of Power have confirmed they will continue filming despite the strike, many have expressed concern the quality would suffer if no additional writing can be done.Īs Stranger Things season 5 is the long-awaited conclusion to the hit series, it is likely a wise decision that they are waiting to ensure the production can run as effectively as possible. Any unforeseen issues or new ideas that come about on set will require rewriting, which simply can't happen while the strike is ongoing. ![]() As the Duffers pointed out, just because the scripts for season 5 might be complete doesn't mean that there is no more writing needed for a show now that it is in production. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Everything he says is perpetuated with concise explanations and purpose. ⭐Introduction to Quantum Mechanics, along with Griffiths’ other magnificent piece: Introduction to Electrodynamics together, are two of the best undergraduate textbooks available.Professor Griffiths’ approach in this one is pretty mathematical, though he doesn’t ever sacrifice conceptual reasoning for mathematical sophistication. Other than that, great content, and really fun and engaging writing style. The electron spin singlet state falls out of some nice derivation but doesn’t even get called entangled until much later the EPR paradox and the Bohm inequality are in the afterword. The only aspect I would have loved to see more discussion of is quantum entanglement. First part is theory, second part has lots of approximations and techniques like perturbation theory. Unlike other quantum mechanics textbooks that start with matrix mechanics, this book starts with the Schroedinger equation, but then ends up really nicely deriving everything else step by step. ⭐The book provides a good introduction to quantum mechanics. The seller delivered the book on time and it was in excellent condition Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website: ![]() ![]() ![]() The psychology of Straley's antisocial characters, like violent Kevin and emotionally damaged Sean, drives these novels as much as does the action. Straley's writing style is strong but, unlike most Alaska mystery writers (Dana Stabenow, Sue Henry), he allows the dazzling locale to serve only as background to his characters-Sitka's often feckless inhabitants. During a climactic, white-knuckle chase at sea in the midst of a horrific storm, the easygoing Younger finds the answers, learning startling truths about trust and honesty. A large sum of money, paid to Ewers by a tabloid newspaper, is missing, and Younger realizes he must follow its trail to discover what really happened three years before. ![]() Then a cop kills Patricia during a shootout at the trailer of Sean and Kevin Sands, whose parents were murdered on the Mygirl. ![]() His wife, Patricia, fearing revenge, asks Younger to find him, but the PI is hesitant because his mentor, retired police chief George Doggy, still thinks Ewers was guilty. Three years earlier, Younger worked for Richard Ewers, a deckhand who was acquitted of murdering four people on the fishing scow Mygirl. In this sixth Cecil Younger mystery, the low-key, rather inept PI from Sitka, Alaska, reopens an unsolved murder case. ![]() ![]() ![]() I didn’t see why everybody in heroic fantasy had to be white (and why all the leading women had ‘violet eyes’). As Le Guin wrote in 2004 responding to the adaptation’s whitewashing, “I didn’t see why everybody in science fiction had to be a honky named Bob or Joe or Bill. The priestess Tenar (in some ways the real protagonist of the Earthsea books) has white skin, but only because she hails from the faraway Kargish lands, full of barbarians and people ignorant of magic. Ged has red-brown skin, as does his royal young friend Prince Arren and most of their other associates. Very few characters in Earthsea have white skin. Speaking of the awful Earthsea adaptation, there is actually one major element of the series that both Rowling and Paolini eschewed, and showed Le Guin to be far ahead of her time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Moon in the Water is a page-turning, epic, historical romance from a skilful writer of the period. ![]() The bloody battles could tear the Heron family, and many others, apart for good.
